Working young

As a young adult I have worked a couple of jobs. Each different in each way. Beginning at the age of 15 I was working under the table as a dishwasher. If it wasn't for my music I probably would have gone insane. I worked as a one man brigade working for an Indian restaurant. I also worked at a pizza parlor and yet another restaurant where I currently work. Each job I’ve had through out my working career has both ups and downs. Free food is just as much as a currency to me as paper money.

Back to the original topic.

Just recently I had such a full day schedule. I had to go to school, attend my varsity swim practice and than go home just to change and go to work. I arrived home promptly at 11. Like many others, getting home after work gives a quick boost of energy out of no where. I had to complete homework and than go to bed. The following day made it seem to be a zombie movie the way my feet were dragging.Its particularly hard to stop working when its not your parents who support you all the time. As a young adult its up to me to get what I need as far as needs and wants. Having a single mother with her own expenses leaves me with having to take care of my own.

If I want;
A cell phone I must pay the bill.
New clothes I must pay the price

Im beginning to teach myself to take care of valuable and appreciate them more when it comes out of your own pocket.

What’s the reason you work, and explain to me how you balance (if you do) a particularly busy day.

That's quite a lot to do for one day, but i guess that's apart of being a person who's growing independent.

That's great that you're starting to work at a young age, but don't overwork yourself. There's no need to rush into the working world, since finishing school is already a chore. Nevertheless, keep up the great work!!

man cory, my life's much worser than your's!

1; i live in a fast food restaurant where work IS my life!

2; no matter how HARD i'll try, i'll eventually return back tores the restaurant because it's 'home sweet home'

3; and finally, due to work...i can't play sports or participate anything after school!

4; plus, i work from 11AM to 12PM during fridays through sundays, and even on days when there's no school...so, i'm kinda glad we HAVE school
